Just a really quick post today because I’m both sick and totally slammed at work… In the calm before the storm, I sick-no-baked (translation: while sick, I puttered in the kitchen without involving the oven because it is SO RIDICULOUSLY HOT). I bought two pounds of Kula strawberries from Kula Country Farms while at Kā‘anapali Fresh a few weeks ago, and here’s what use I put them to:

Mmmm…ice cream cake… I have jumped on the no-churn ice cream band wagon, partly because I saw this Food 52 post that intrigued me and also because it’s so hot in our place that the ice cream maker doesn’t really work—the contents never set while in the machine. I’ve actually made this no-churn frozen honey cream before, but the strawberry was a new adventure. The texture is not quite the same as regular ice cream, but any chilly port in a freak heat wave storm!

Stay tuned for the full post!
