Posh piglets. The Ritz-Carlton adopted these teensy guys (gals?) and are raising them in their Jean-Michel Cousteau Ambassadors of the Environment Center. Not to eat, or anything. Just to look cute. © 2012 Sugar + ShakeBeen such a crazy week! We had the opportunity to attend the Kapalua Wine & Food Festival last weekend, and since getting home, we haven’t had time to do anything! (Seriously, we haven’t even unpacked…the week has consisted of rooting around in my suitcase for random things I desperately need.)

I’m still working on processing photos, so for now, just a handful of shots of the posh little piglets who live at The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua. We were told they’re “micro-mini” pigs, and they certainly are eentsy-weentsy. They were about the size of kittens, and made little snorty sounds. Pretty freakin’ cute.

This is how to roll at Kapalua. © 2012 Sugar + ShakeAlso, in keeping with the posh theme: When we arrived at the airport, we were met by a driver…who led us to an enormous, gleaming black Denali SUV. I think it was bigger than my bathroom. We felt like we were rollin’ gangsta-style (or is it thug-style?), especially when later, hilariously, one member of the group of Ritz-Carlton execs we were waiting with to attend the evening’s media reception decided to commandeer a Cadillac Escalade from the hotel to drive us down to the restaurant at light speed. Whee! At the end of the weekend, the black Denali made a reappearance to take us back to the airport. (You would understand how truly funny this is if you’d ever seen the Kapalua aiport—it’s so small that the same TSA guys who inspect your baggage at check-in shut down their counter and move 40 feet over to open up the TSA passenger screening line. Rolling up in a Denali is just so outrageously over-the-top awesome.)

The pigs probably get to ride in the Denali whenever they want.
